We are seeking a full time Venue Manager to join the team in our new state of the art Morris Cellar Door, coupled with unforgettable wine and whisky experiences and an insight in the picturesque region of Rutherglen, Victoria.

By creating an atmosphere that seamlessly blends tradition with a modern wine and whisky experience, we will be providing a unique getaway for travel and wine/whisky enthusiasts alike.

The role of the Venue Manager is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the cellar door, coaching and training the employees to provide a memorable tasting experience. Driving the service experience whilst boosting sales and selling the Morris range to the local and tourism market.

This is a hands-on role which suits a highly organised, motivated, and proactive individual who is naturally, a team player. 

Requirements:

• Current experience in a managerial role
• Highly polished, strong customer service experience
• Ability to balance multiple disciplines and prioritise shareholders and customer needs in events
• A genuine passion for wine, whisky and food with exceptional hospitality and tourism knowledge both locally and nationally is necessary
• Experience in developing event and hospitality concepts to deliver a calendar of activations alongside agreed brand and business objectives

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-5 years hospitality and events management experience
• Exceptional written communications skills, personal presentation, and hosting ability
• Experience with managing budgeting systems
• Strong people management skills with a proactive and influential style
• Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise to achieve superior results
• RSA compliant with full driver’s licence
• Current Food Safety Qualification
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products
• Previous experience demonstrating management of a Cellar Door department
